BEAUTY ACADEMY
BLACK OWNED. WOMAN LED. STATE APPROVED.
WELCOME, BEAUTY LOVER.
At CocoTea Beauty Academy, we believe beauty is more than a skill — it’s a craft, a calling, and a lifelong passion. We are proud to be Maryland’s first private career school to offer state-approved education in all four major areas of beauty:
MAKEUP. HAIR. ESTHETICS. NAILS.
Founded by Teashya Tucker, one of Baltimore’s leading professional makeup artists, CocoTea Beauty Academy is breaking new ground in beauty education. We are the first school of cosmetology and modern beauty to place a special focus on niche areas within the makeup concentration — including bridal, editorial, and special effects training — specialties not offered in any other state-approved training environment!
This new chapter in the CocoTea Beauty story is the most exciting yet — a way to give back to the next generation of artists while empowering our peers to find investment, stability, and longevity in the career they love. We invite you to explore our programs, discover your potential, and join a community where artistry meets opportunity.

OUR STANDARDS ARE HIGHER
At CocoTea Beauty Academy, we go beyond the state minimum for the Esthetics & Nails programs to give our students the skills, confidence, and hands-on experience they need to succeed in the beauty industry.
Our goal is very simple: prepare every student to excel, stand out, and thrive in the beauty industry.
ESTHETICS
State Requirement: 600 hours of training (or 12 months apprenticeship) to qualify for licensing.
Our Program: 1,200 hours of advanced instruction.
Why It Matters: Our extended curriculum gives you double the training, more hands-on practice, and preparation for in-demand services. Plus, as of October 1, 2025, your license will allow you to perform eyelash extension services, expanding your career opportunities.
NAILS
State Requirement: 250 hours of training (or 8 months apprenticeship) to qualify for licensing.
Our Program: 400 hours of advanced instruction.
Why It Matters: The extra hours mean more practice, more mastery, and better readiness for real-world clients. Graduates enter the workforce with confidence, skill, and a professional edge.
